Committed to the quality and food safety of our products.

We work daily to guarantee the highest quality to our customers, striving to exceed their
expectations. To back up this guarantee, we analyse all our honeys at every stage of the
production process, from our raw materials to our final products. Our goal is to deliver the
highest quality products to our customers.

‘We carry out part of our analyses in our laboratory to streamline our production process
and assure you of the quality of our natural honey.’

Those analyses provided for in applicable legislation, additional to the above mentioned
European Directive, e.g. Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of
the Council of 23 February 2005 on maximum residue levels of pesticides in or on food
and feed of plant and animal origin and amending Council Directive 91/414/EEC, or for
example Commission Regulation (EU) No 37/2010 of 22 December 2009 on
pharmacologically active substances and their classification as regards maximum residue
levels in foodstuffs of animal origin, are analysed externally in ISO 17025 accredited
laboratories, namely Quality Services International (QSI, located in Germany), and
Intertek, also located in Germany.

Certifications that accredit our quality

Maes Honey is the Spanish honey company with the highest Food Safety Certifications: BRC, IFS, FDA, Kosher and Halal. We submit all our honeys to different analyses to guarantee their compliance with the strictest national and international regulations and requirements demanded by governments, governmental institutions and/or private organisations.

Our own laboratory

In our facilities we have our own laboratory equipped with the most cutting-edge and rigorous technology, such as our Nuclear Magnetic Resonance equipment, which allows us to characterise all our batches of honey in a very exhaustive and safe way.

Equipment

Maes Honey has the necessary equipment to be able to carry out in-house all the analyses required by COUNCIL DIRECTIVE 2001/110/EC of 20 December 2001 on honey.

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Equipment (NMR)

Maes Honey is one of the only honey packers in Europe to have Nuclear Magnetic Resonance equipment, from Bruker BioSpin GmbH and provided with a database of pure honeys of more than 20.000 samples, developed by this company and its partner, Quality Services International GmbH (QSI), both located in Germany.

Analyses the sugar profile of honey

This equipment not only makes it possible to identify and quantify the main sugars present in honey (fructose, glucose, sucrose and maltose), but also other minority sugars that are very important from the point of view of possible honey adulteration, such as turanose and mannose.

High-quality
natural honey

At Maes Honey, we are fully committed to our quality. In our in-house laboratory, we meticulously analyze all our raw material and final product batches to ensure that your consumers enjoy an unforgettable taste experience.
